Top Restaurants and Food Guide for Disneyland Park

Below is a quick reference list with all of our favorite restaurants and food inside Disneyland Park. We have not tried every item on every menu in the Park. We do our best to sample a lot. Below is the food that we’ve tried and can recommend as our favorites.

We don’t have a fixed number of recommendations for each category. We include the restaurants and foods that we recommend, and that’s not an even number for each group.

Best Table Service Restaurants Lunch/Dinner

Cafe Orleans (New Orleans Square) – Monte Cristo Sandwich, Roasted Chicken, Short Ribs, Gumbo Soup
Carnation Cafe (Main Street USA) – Chicken Fried Chicken, Parmesan Toasted Patty Melt, Baked Potato Soup, Fried Pickles, Walt’s Chili, Pie and Ice Cream Sundaes for Dessert
Blue Bayou (New Orleans Square) – Has the best location/theming and is the most popular restaurant. We’ve had mixed food results there, but we can recommend the Gumbo Soup, Filet Mignon, and Desserts.

Best Quick Service Restaurants Lunch/Dinner

Docking Bay 7 (Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge) – Menu varies, and everything is good. Fried Chicken Tip Yip, their latest Beef entree, and their plant-based items usually includes a fantastic Hummus
Jolly Holiday (Main Street USA) – Salads, Baked Goods, Grilled Cheese Sandwich and all Sandwiches are good. They have seasonal items we’ve loved like the Thanksmas Sandwich which comes back for the holidays.
Bengal Barbecue (Adventureland) – Banyan Beef Skewer, Pork Belly Skewer, Outback Vegetable Skewer, Safari Skewer – everything is good except Tiger Tail Breadstick
Tianna’s Palace (New Orleans Square) – House Gumbo, Cajun Spiced Half Chicken, Jambalaya
Harbour Galley (New Orleans Square) – Lobster Roll, Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl, Tuna Salad Sandwich, Warm Fresh-Baked Cookies
Plaza Inn (Main Street USA) – Fried Chicken plate with mashed potatoes

Best Quick Meals for Kids (or adults) who Prefer Basic Foods

Jolly Holiday (Main Street USA) – Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Docking Bay 7 (Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge) – Kid’s Fried Chicken Tip-Yip
Tianna’s Palace (New Orleans Square) – Kid’s Toasted Ham & Cheese Sandwich
Chicken tenders from Golden Horseshoe (Adventureland), Stage Door Cafe (Adventureland), Galactic Grill (Tomorrowland), or Hungry Bear (Bayou Country)
Cafe Daisy (Toontown) – Pizza Flop Overs or the Daisy Dog
Corn Dogs from Little Red Wagon (Main Street USA) or Stage Door Cafe (Adventureland)
Refreshment Corner (Main Street USA) – Mac & Cheese or Chili in Sourdough Bread Bowl

We didn’t mention any hamburgers because the Quick Service burgers in the Park are not high quality. If you must have a hamburger then Hungry Bear, Galactic Grill, and Red Rose Tavern serve them. Downtown Disney has good quick service hamburgers. The GCH Craftsman Grill at the Grand Californian has a great hamburger but it’s more than $20.

Best Quick Service Breakfast

Ronto Roasters (Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge) – Ronto Breakfast Wraps
Jolly Holiday (Main Street USA) – Cinnamon Roll or the Egg Bacon Croissant
Ship to Shore Marketplace (Frontierland) – Breakfast Chimichanga (we like the one with ham and yes to salsa for extra charge)
Red Rose Tavern (Fantasyland) – Mickey-shaped Pancake with bacon or sausage or potato bites. The breakfast sandwich is decent but would not otherwise make the best list, but if you’re there.

Best Table Service Breakfast

Carnation Café (Main Street USA) – Breakfast Skillet, Mickey-Shaped Waffle, Buttermilk Pancakes
Plaza Inn Character Breakfast (Main Street USA) – Buffet breakfast. Our favorite items are Mickey-Shaped Waffles and custom Omelets. They have a big buffet with much more. We go for the characters which always includes Minnie Mouse and friends like Pooh and others. The friends can be different characters from day to day.

Best Sweet Snacks

Warm Chocolate Chip Cookies from Harbour Galley and the warm Gingerbread Cookies are even better, but they are seasonal so may not be there
Churro Toffee or Chocolate Marshmallow Wands from Candy Palace or Pooh’s Corner
Ice Cream from Gibson Girl
Dole Whip from Tropical Imports (many flavors) or Tiki Juice Bar (only Pineapple flavor)
Raspberry-Rose Mickey-shaped Macaron from Jolly Holiday
The Grey Stuff from Red Rose Tavern
Mickey-shaped Beignets from the Mint Julep Bar
Churros from Churro Carts – there are many specialty toppings and dips offered which change often. Different carts have different options. So this is a pro thing that locals do – they try all the specialty Churro toppings and dips. The Disneyland App has the menu for each cart. They always have a plain one though, so you don’t need to check menus for that.
Nuttles from Candy Palace (only made 2 days a week and available early afternoon. Ask at counter which days – usually not on weekends. Sometimes they have some left over from a prior day but they often sell out each day they are made.
Boysen Apple Freeze at Maurice’s Treats (it’s a slushie with whipped cream)
Grapes or Pineapple Spears from Fruit Carts (they have other fruit too)

Best Savory Snacks

Bengal Barbecue skewers (can be snack or meal)
The Troubadour Baked Potato from Troubadour Tavern (can be snack or meal)
Ronto Wraps from Ronto Roasters (can be snack or meal)
Cheesy Garlic Pretzel Bread from Edelweiss Snacks or Maurice’s Treats
Popcorn from Popcorn Carts around the Park
Garlic-Cheese Five Blossom Bread with Spicy Cheese Sauce from Oga’s Cantina
Snack-size Mardi Gras Monte Cristo or Baked Cheesy Biscuits from Royal Street Veranda
Corn Dog from Little Red Wagon or Stage Door Cafe
Specialty Popcorn from Kat Satka’s Kettle
Mickey Pretzel (plain, cream cheese filled, or jalapeno cheese filled). We prefer plain because the cream cheese is on the sweet side. Available at multiple carts and Refreshment Corner.
Pickles from Fruit Carts

Best Salads or Vegetarian Meals

Always confirm plant-based designation using Disney menus. Salads we list may have meat.

Docking Bay 7 Salad (usually has meat) or any plant-based food they have on the menu
Ronto-less Garden Wrap from Ronto Roasters
Salads from Jolly Holiday (may have meat)
Baked Potato minus the bacon bits from Troubadour Tavern
Outback Vegetable Skewer from Bengal Barbecue

Best Alcohol

From Oga’s Cantina – Outer Rim or Fuzzy Tauntaun are our favorites, but they have other good drinks
Wine list at Blue Bayou

The only other Alcohol in the Park is at the Table Service restaurants and the menu options are very limited. If you want a good cocktail menu, then Downtown Disney or California Adventure Park have many options.

Best Coffee

Market House on Main Street is a Starbucks, but they don’t accept mobile orders
Cold Brew Black Caf from Docking Bay 7

We don’t enjoy Joffrey’s Coffee which is what’s served throughout all locations Disneyland Park except Market House.

Where to Go if Everything is Busy

Always check what’s Available Now on Mobile Order
Snack Carts/Food Stands have some hearty options at Ship to Shore, Maurice’s Treats, and Edelweiss Snacks and lines typically move fast
Plaza Inn and Tianna’s Palace lines moves faster because they are cafeteria style
Troubadour Tavern is out of the way and good for Baked Potatoes
Ronto Roasters has a small menu and fast line

Summary

This does not cover seasonal food. There are so many dishes that come and go with different seasons like Halloween, Christmas and other times.
