Napa Rose – Our Review

Location:  Grand Californian Hotel

Our Ranking #5 in Table Service Restaurants, Serves Lunch and Dinner

For other restaurant rankings, see our article on Disneyland Table Service Restaurants Ranked

Napa Rose is the most expensive restaurant at Disneyland. It’s located inside the Grand Californian Hotel which is directly connected to California Adventure Park. It offers elegant and upscale fine dining, specializing in Californian cuisine.

The menu changes constantly with different seasonal ingredients. The mains are meat heavy (usually fish, steak, pork, chicken). The limited entree selections and high prices are why we don’t rate Napa Rose higher. The menu is more limited than you’d expect for this price point. We have experienced some inconsistency in the quality for some dishes.

The wine list is extensive, with a notable list of California wines. All the wait cast members are wine experts, so we always ask for recommendations.

The consistent standout dishes are the starters, desserts, and if they offer it – the focaccia bread with dipping sauces. We’ve had some excellent entrees at Napa Rose – usually the fish or the steak. Other entrees for us have been good, but not good enough for the prices.

Napa Rose has over-cooked our fish and steak a few times. Our Cast Member servers have been wonderful about getting this fixed.

They almost always offer Focaccia bread but it’s not on the menu – your cast member will verbally offer it. We love it so much – and it’s the best value there. If they don’t have it and they offer another bread, it’s not the same. The Smiling Tiger Salad is divine, and they always have it on the menu.

We’ve done the Vintner’s Table Prix Fixe menu with the wine flights only once. The wine pours were generous. It was a great experience with delicious food and the menu constantly changes.

We’ve ordered so many desserts at Napa Rose and they’ve mostly been exceptional. The desserts change constantly. They usually have at least four on the menu and we order every dessert they have.

Our Favorites at Napa Rose: Fish, Steak, Smiling Tiger Salad, Scallop, Focaccia Bread, all Desserts

Summary

That’s our opinion and yours will be different. We have not tried every menu item, so we only include our favorites based on what we’ve tried.

The bottom line is that Napa Rose is expensive. The spectacular setting feels special. We have sent fish back due to being overcooked, and they are always happy to fix things.
