Lamplight Lounge -Our Review

Location:  California Adventure Park, Pixar Pier

Our Ranking #4 in Table Service Restaurants, Serves Lunch and Dinner and also Brunch on Friday-Sundays

For other restaurant rankings, see our article on Disneyland Table Service Restaurants Ranked

The Lamplight Lounge is a vibrant and eclectic, open-air dining spot located in Pixar Pier overlooking the water. It’s our favorite for theming, visuals and vibes of any restaurant at Disneyland. It’s beautiful, relaxed, and inviting. It’s great for guests of all ages. Its theme celebrates the whimsical world of Pixar Animation Studios.

Lamplight Lounge is downstairs, and above it upstairs is Lamplight Boardwalk Dining. The two locations have different menus. Boardwalk Dining is wait list/walk up only, no reservations. We are reviewing the downstairs restaurant here and they accept reservations.

Menu Highlights

The menu offers contemporary American fare with a creative twist. You can expect to find dishes like gourmet burgers, pork chops, and fresh salads.

They have a spectacular brunch menu on Friday-Sunday, and we schedule this for every trip.

We enjoy so many dishes at Lamplight Lounge and the cocktails are fantastic. They no longer offer Nachos on the menu. That was the dish they were most known for. Nachos are only offered upstairs at the Boardwalk Dining location.

The one uninspiring menu area is their desserts. They offer donuts which are fine. We visit nearby Ghirardelli ice cream, Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats, or Bing Bongs for dessert.

Our Favorites at Lamplight Lounge Lunch and Dinner: Potato Skins (ask for extra sauce); Salmon Poke, Cheddar Burger (best burger at Disneyland); Salmon PLT Sandwich

Our Favorites at Lamplight Lounge Brunch: French Toast, Chilaquiles, Egg White Frittata Bake, Potato Flautas (spicy), Brunch Burger

Pro Tips

Advance reservations are highly recommended. They sometimes have a wait list for same day dining on the Disneyland App. Of the restaurants at Disneyland, this is the second most popular to reserve (behind the Blue Bayou). The reservations book up quickly 60 days out starting at 6am. We always are online that morning booking this reservation.

Lamplight Lounge has covered patio dining overlooking the water and interior open-air dining area behind the bar. We usually ask for patio seating, and the cast members will try to accommodate this.

They do have heaters on the patio for chilly days.

The drink menu is notable with a full-service bar. You can order cocktails that are not on the menu like the Dole Whip Cocktail which we love. They call this the secret menu for drinks. Ask your server for more advice about the secret menu. They’ll also make other, more standard drinks that are not on the menu.

You can order an alcoholic drink to go with you. If you haven’t finished one then you can ask for them to put it in a to-go cup.

Summary

That’s our opinion and yours will be different, of course. We have not tried every menu item, so we only include our favorites based on what we’ve tried.

Overall, Lamplight Lounge provides fantastic food and cocktails in a unique and enjoyable setting. They blend Disney’s magic with Pixar’s creativity in a delightful setting, and their brunch on Fridays-Sundays is spectacular.

We rank Lamplight Lounge as one of our top restaurants across both Parks (just behind Carthay Circle Lounge).
