The GCH Bar and Grill is a poolside patio bar and restaurant overlooking the Grand Californian Hotel pool. It’s a lively setting that sometimes has live music and always has poolside vibes. It shuts down in the rain since it’s completely outdoors. It does have a patio cover but it’s a soft cover and not a roof.
It is pricey for poolside dining, but this is the Grand Californian Hotel after all. The menu is solid and we’ve never had anything bad here. They have salads, sandwiches, poke bowl, pizzas, a great hamburger and hot dog and more. Even their hot dog is the best one you can get at Disneyland (yes – it beats Award Wieners). It is a rather expensive hot dog at $20 though.

Pro Tips
We love this place for a late breakfast because they have excellent breakfast options. They stop seating people for breakfast at about 10:15 AM and there is a delay in seating people for lunch. We have been turned away before because we came in the awkward shift over time for them.
The food menu is the same as the GCH Grill next door which is the Quick Service restaurant version. The prices are slightly lower for quick service.
FYI – if you eat here you can’t enter into the Grand Californian pool area. They use wristbands for validation at the pool.
The vibes here are great in the evening. It’s a classy, comfy outdoor ambiance and they often have live music, which is wonderful.
They close when it rains since it’s an outdoor patio location only.
Summary
That’s our opinion and yours will be different. We have not tried every menu item, so we only include our favorites based on what we’ve tried.
We enjoy eating here very much, but we don’t make advance reservations even though you can. If walk up works for breakfast then we prefer this over most other breakfast options. We eat poolside meals here whenever we stay at the Grand Californian Hotel and we’ve never been disappointed.
