Best Quick Eats at Disneyland Park Ranked

This ranking is only for the restaurants in Disneyland Park that serve Lunch and Dinner. Check out our other posts on this topic.

Most restaurants below don’t serve breakfast.

We’re focused on year-round menus. Many of the locations can have fantastic seasonal food that comes and goes. See our post Disneyland Seasonal Foodie Guide for more information on this topic.

Below are our rankings starting with the best at #1. These are out opinions based on our own experiences eating at California Adventure Park. Any of the menu items we mention below can disappear because menus do change.

Rank #1 – Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

  • Offerings: Pasta, beef entrée (varies), Salad, Fried Chicken
  • Our Favorites: Everything is fantastic here. The menu changes and the beef dishes, pasta dishes and salads are always outstanding.
  • Our Tips:
    • More expensive than other quick service restaurants due to higher quality entrees.
    • The menu changes constantly and we’ve always loved the new items.
    • If they bring back the Falafel plate, it’s awesome.
    • The Cold Brew Black Caf is our favorite coffee at Disneyland.

Rank #2 – Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe on Main Street

  • Offerings: Sandwiches, Baked goods, Salad
  • Our Favorites: Grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup, all the baked goods, Salads
  • Our Tips:
    • The sandwich menu is small but mighty – we always enjoy the sandwiches here.
    • They usually have a seasonal sandwich that’s fantastic (like beef birria or a holiday turkey sandwich).
    • They are known for their baked goods – we love the raspberry macaron, cinnamon rolls, and cheesecake.
    • Many baked goods are seasonal, and most are excellent.
    • Open for Breakfast – see our post on Complete Guide to Breakfast at Disneyland

Rank #3 – Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland

  • Offerings: Meat and vegetable skewers
  • Our Favorites: Everything is great
  • Our Tips:
    • We think the vegetable skewer is a fantastic value, and it is awesome and the most healthy thing we eat at Disneyland.
    • We prefer the spicy beef (Banyan) over the sweet beef sauce (Bengal), but they’re both good.
    • Limited seating so you can go over to Tropical Hideaway next door where there is more seating.
    • If you get lower-priced skewers (like veggie), the Rice Plate may not be worth the upcharge. It adds Rice and Slaw. Check the price differential before ordering.
    • The one thing we don’t like is the Tiger Tail breadstick – ours has been dry. Otherwise we’d order anything here.
    • Open for Breakfast with the same meat and veggie menu – see our post on Complete Guide to Breakfast at Disneyland

Rank #4 – Tianna’s Palace in New Orleans Square

  • Offerings: New Orleans-style food
  • Our Favorites: House Gumbo, Shrimp and Grits, Cajun Spiced Half Chicken
  • Our Tips:
    • Great atmosphere and Tianna may stop by and check in on you (so fun).
    • The outdoor patio seating here is covered and we love it.
    • They have mobile order but the regular line is cafeteria-style and usually moves quickly. We don’t like that mobile oder puts all the food in plastic – so we prefer to go inside and get our food on actual plates. This is the only place where we prefer to not do mobile order.

Rank #5 – Harbour Galley in New Orleans Square

  • Offerings: Sandwiches and Soup in Bread Bowl
  • Our Favorites: Lobster roll, Clam Chowder in Bread Bowl, Tuna Sandwich, fresh warm chocolate chip cookies, during holiday season they have spectacular fresh gingerbread cookies
  • Our Tips:
    • The menu is very small, and all the menu items are solid.
    • Seating is somewhat limited here – there is some additional seating on the back side of the restaurant by the water.
    • The cookies come fresh from the oven – yummy – and don’t forget the whipped topping to add separately to your order.
    • Because the fresh cookies are so popular, the mobile order for this restaurant can book out hours in advance which is a bummer.

Rank #6 – Ronto Roasters in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

  • Offerings: Tiny menu: Pork or Plant-Based Sausage in pita wraps, and sometimes a seasonal wrap (there’s currently one with deli meats)
  • Our Favorites: Wraps are spectacular – but the options are limited. They do have a breakfast version of the pork sausage wrap with eggs and that changes to the lunch/dinner version with slaw. The Garden Wrap is offerred all day.
  • Our Tips:
    • The accept mobile orders but the line here moves so fast, so we’ve never felt the need to use mobile order
    • We enjoy the Plant-Based Sausage wrap here even more than the Pork. We think this is the best plant-based food item at Disneyland.
    • Don’t skip the Tatooine Sunset drink which is awesome.
    • The menu is so limited though which is why it doesn’t score higher. Don’t let that keep you away.  If you’re in the mood for an awesome wrap, then go here.
    • Open for Breakfast – see our post on Complete Guide to Breakfast at Disneyland

Rank #7 Troubadour Tavern in Fantasyland

  • Offerings: Tiny menu – Baked Potatoes (mostly)
  • Our Favorites: Loaded Baked Potato
  • Our Tips:
    • Disney classifies this as a snack location, but the baked potatoes are meal sized and they usually have at least one seasonal offering that’s meal sized and we’ve enjoyed the seasonal items here but they do change often.
    • There is a tiny amount of seating here, so you’ll most likely take your food elsewhere. We like the seating behind Edelweiss Snacks which is close enough. The Fantasyland Theater next door may be open for seating if there’s some event there but it’s often blocked off and closed.
    • If there is a show at the Fantasyland Theater, then the line can be longer for food so mobile order can help.

Rank #8 – Plaza Inn on Main Street

  • Offerings: Traditional American-style entree plates
  • Our Favorites: Fried Chicken plate with mashed potatoes
  • Our Tips:
    • No mobile order here but it’s cafeteria style so the line usually moves fast.
    • More expensive than other quick service restaurants, but these are full entrée plates and the fried chicken serving is large and we share it.
    • We only love one menu item here (Fried Chicken) and other dishes are fine but do not compare to the Chicken in our opinion.
    • You can refill your soda here which is great because soda is expensive and most places don’t offer refills.
    • If they have Salmon, we’ll never order it again because cafeteria style Salmon is usually overcooked.
    • They do a Character Breakfast in the morning which is Table-Service buffet-style. They take reservations and it’s usually fully booked up. See our post on Disneyland Character Dining.

Rank #9 – Rancho Del Zocalo in Frontierland

  • Offerings: Mexican food
  • Our Favorites: Burrito or Burrito Bowls, Pollo Asado Half Chicken
  • Our Tips:
    • No mobile order here.
    • They have one of the larger selections of menu items for quick service restaurants in the Park.
    • There is nothing spicy here that we’ve found. We also find the food to be lacking in flavor which is why it doesn’t rank higher because we love Mexican Food.
    • They have a large, lovely outdoor patio.
    • You can refill your soda here which is great because soda is expensive and most places don’t offer refills.

Rank #10 – Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree in Bayou Country

  • Offerings: Barbecued meat and burgers
  • Our Favorites: Pulled Pork Sandwich, Loaded Fries, Chicken Tenders
  • Our Tips:
    • The burgers can be dry and sometimes the Brisket, although sometimes Brisket is not dry so it may vary.
    • They offer three kinds of barbecue sauce and we like to get them all.
    • The patio seating is fantastic.
    • They have one of the larger selections of menu items for quick service restaurants in the Park.
    • Chicken Tenders are offerred at several restaurants (Stage Door Cafe, Golden Horseshoe, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, kid’s plate at Troubadour Tavern). Stage Door and Golden Horseshoe offer regular and Hot Honey Chicken Tenders.
      • But when comparing Chicken Tender plates, we do enjoy the Beer-Battered Fries at Hungry Bear more than the more standard Fries at Stage Door or Golden Horseshoe.

Rank #11 – Royal Street Veranda in New Orleans Square

  • Offerings: Soup in Bread Bowl, Monte Cristo
  • Our Favorites: Clam Chowder Soup in Bread Bowl, Monte Cristo, Baked Cheesy Biscuits with side of Cheese Sauce
  • Our Tips:
    • Almost no seating here so you can take your food to Golden Horseshoe (go upstairs).
    • Tiny menu – the only entree-sized options are soup in bread bowls and other offerings are snacks
    • Open for Breakfast – see our post on Complete Guide to Breakfast at Disneyland

Rank #12 – Alien Pizza Planet in Tomorrowland

  • Offerings: Pasta and Pizza
  • Our Favorites: Pasta
  • Our Tips:
    • We think the Pizza is not good because of the sauce and cheese quality. The pasta is better, although we’d say the quality of the Pasta is on par with a really good frozen pasta you might purchase at the grocery store so this is why this restaurant ranks lower.
    • They have lots of seating behind the restaurant in Space Mountain interior area.
    • You can refill your soda here which is great because soda is expensive and most places don’t offer refills.

Rank #13 – Red Rose Taverne in Fantasyland

  • Offerings: Burgers, Flatbreads, Bowls, Chicken Sandwich, Salad
  • Our Favorites: Grey Stuff Dessert, Pepperoni Flatbread, Tavern Potato Bites
  • Our Tips:
    • We don’t like the hamburgers here and if we want a hamburger, we go to Downtown Disney.
    • The main reason we visit here is for the Grey Stuff which is one of the best desserts in the Parks.
    • The far edge of the interior restaurant closest to Snow White ride is our favorite interior place to sit. There is a cute back room with great decor.
    • We don’t love the flatbread, but we think it’s their best item and we do order it sometimes.
    • Open for Breakfast and they do have some good options- see our post on Complete Guide to Breakfast at Disneyland

Rank #14 – Cafe Daisy in Toontown

  • Offerings: Hot Dogs, Pizza Flop-overs, Fast Food
  • Our Favorites: Dressed-Up Hot Dog, Chips & Chili Cheese Sauce
  • Our Tips:
    • There is not much seating here. There is an area with benches just past Chip n Dales Gadget,
    • We really love the Chili Cheese Sauce and the Chips are more fresh and higher end than bagged Chips.
    • The Flop-over Pizza here is our favorite Pizza in Disneyland or California Adventure Park. It is greasy but we enjoy it. It’s not as good as Pizza in Downtown Disney, but it satifies our Pizza craving when we are in Disneyland Park.
    • This is also our favorite Hot Dog in this Park, not including Corn Dogs which we classify as different. If you are looking for a Hot Dog in the Park that’s not a Corn Dog then we like these Hot Dogs.

Rank #15 – Refreshment Corner on Main Street, USA

  • Offerings: Hot Dogs, Chili, Mac & Cheese, Warm Bread Pretzels
  • Our Favorites: Mac & Cheese Chili in Bread Bowl, Chili Cheese Dog, Warm Bread Pretzels, Spicy Firefly Chips may be on the seasonal menu
  • Our Tips:
    • Not a lot of seating so you can go next door to Jolly Holliday or Plaza Inn for a table.
    • The Pretzels are more of a snack item and we love them and if they are offering the Cinnamon Roll Pretzel then we always get that. The cheese filling in the other Pretzels is more sweet than savory.
    • Iconic and cute location on Main Street and they often have a Piano Player and Alice or the Mad Hatter or both may stop by and put on an impromptu show.
    • Not the best hot dog (go to Café Daisy instead) or Chili (go to Carnation Café instead) or macaroni and cheese (go to Tianna’s Palace instead), but this is the one place you can combine mac and chili in a bread bowl which we enjoy.
    • They may have the Spicy Firefly Chips on the seasonal menu – we love them and they are spicy.

Rank #16 – Stage Door Cafe in Frontierland

  • Offerings: Tiny Menu: Corndogs, Chicken Tenders, Wrap (what’s in it changes often)
  • Our Favorites: Corndog, Chicken Tenders
  • Our Tips:
    • The Corndogs at Disneyland are fantastic (if you enjoy Corndogs) and these are the same as those served at the Little Red Wagon in Disneyland Park or over at Corn Dog Castle at California Adventure Park.
    • The same Chicken Tenders are offerred at several restaurants (Golden Horseshoe, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, kid’s plate at Troubadour Tavern), but this location also offers Hot Honey Chicken Tenders as does the Golden Horseshoe.
    • They have seasonal funnel cakes (toppings vary) which is a large dessert that can be shared.

Rank #17 – The Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland

  • Offerings: Chicken Tenders, Caesar Wrap
  • Our Favorites: Chicken Tenders, Beer-Battered Onion Rings
  • Our Tips:
    • They share a kitchen with Stage Door Café but they don’t offer Corndogs (which we do enjoy) so that’s a slight edge for Stage Door Cafe for us.
    • They do have some ice cream sundaes that are sometimes good (they change frequently with the season).
    • Chicken Tenders are offerred at several restaurants (Stage Door Cafe, Golden Horseshoe, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, kid’s plate at Troubadour Tavern), but this location also offers Hot Honey Chicken Tenders as does the Stage Door Cafe.

Rank #18 – Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland

  • Offerings: Burgers, Fish ‘n’ Chips, Chicken Tenders, Chopped Salad
  • Our Favorites: Chicken Tenders, Chopped Salad, Parfait Desserts (Darth by Chocolate is the best but it’s seasonal)
  • Our Tips:
    • Chicken Tenders are offerred at several restaurants (Stage Door Cafe, Golden Horseshoe, or Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree).
    • We like the seating at Galactic Grill, with its large covered patio.
    • There is a water refill station here where you can fill up water bottles or ask for a free water cup at the counter.
    • We prefer the burgers in Downtown Disney, but if you want a burger and don’t want to exit the Park, Galactic Grill usually has an intersting specialty burger with toppings like bacon, flavored mayos and other tasty things. Their offerings on this changes frequently.
    • We rate Galactic Grill so low because it’s primarily a burger place and we do not recommend the burgers at Disneyland. Also, even the french fries here are not good – there are much better french fry options in the Park so it’s a double-whammy to also not have good french fries.
    • Open for Breakfast and they have some good options – see our post on Complete Guide to Breakfast at Disneyland

Summary

That’s our opinion and yours may be different, of course. We have not tried every menu item, so we only include our favorites based on what we’ve tried.

Don’t be discouraged from visiting a low ranking restaurant above. These are just our preferences and we enjoy menu items at all of these restaurants.

There are many snack locations and carts and we don’t cover the snack locations in this post. This includes Little Red Wagon and Ship to Shore Marketplace and several carts. These are covered in our post on Complete Guide to Savory Snacks at Disneyland.

One tip that applies to every Quick Service Restaurant is ask for free water. They always keep some ready to go, but they don’t offer it unless you ask (in our experience).

Thanks for reading this and please check out our full website for lots more content. We at the Bippity Club wish you the very best and hope you enjoy awesome food at Disneyland!
