Our Ranking #16 in Table Service Restaurants, Serves Lunch and Dinner
For other restaurant rankings, see our article on Disneyland Table Service Restaurants Ranked
This is Disney’s finest dining restaurant in the Disneyland Park. The Blue Bayou Restaurant offers Cajun Cuisine and is set inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. This iconic setting is what makes it one of the hardest reservations to get at Disneyland. It’s beautiful, peaceful, immersive and a cool oasis with great vibes on a hot day.
It’s super popular because of the uniquely themed location. We find the food to be uneven and expensive, so we probably rank it lower than most people would. We definitely recommend trying it if you’ve never been because the location is amazing.
The ambience and vibe are suited more for adult dining, but children are welcome of course.
Menu Highlights
The menu offers steak (for dinner), fish, salads, gumbo, and monte cristo sandwiches (for lunch) and usually a pasta. They change up the fish quite often. It’s a small menu – as we write this article there are 5 entrees on the dinner menu. Nothing is spicy, so the Cajun interpretation is on the mild side.
They have an impressive wine list for inside a theme park. We’ve found some nice wines by the glass here. Their signature cocktail is the Hurricane which we have not tried and they offer a few other cocktails.
The Filet Mignon steak is usually very good although it’s not a big cut for the price. We were once served lower quality meat as part of the Fantasmic Dining Package. We’ve had some fish that was good and some that was disappointing, and the same with the pasta dishes. The salads are small for the price.
They serve the very popular Monte Cristo deep fried sandwich only for lunch (not dinner). We do love this sandwich, but this same sandwich is cheaper at Cafe Orleans.
We love the Gumbo Soup, which is an excellent value vs. the price of other things on the menu. We’ve had some great desserts here and we really enjoy the Crème Brulé which is not always on the menu. They change up the desserts and we’ve never had a bad dessert.
Our Favorites at Blue Bayou: Gumbo Soup, Desserts, Filet Mignon (dinner only), Monte Cristo Sandwich (lunch only)

Pro Tips
You can ask to sit by the water if you have a small party of 4 or less. There are no large waterside tables there. They don’t encourage that you ask for a specific table location. It can lengthen your wait.
Many people walk up during the day to ask if they can dine without a reservation. Cast Members encourage people to try and join a wait list on the Disneyland App which is often full. It’s still fine to stop by and ask because we have seen people get seated that way. Sometimes there is capacity in a specific moment even though the wait list looks full.
Summary
That’s our opinion and yours will be different. We have not tried every menu item, so we only include our favorites based on what we’ve tried.
We do love the unique themed vibes at the Blue Bayou and we’ve gone many times for the experience. It’s also a nice, cool location on a hot day. The food quality/value for price can be a challenge. , but the Gumbo and Desserts and the Monte Cristo sandwich for lunch are options we enjoy.
